MOSCOW (Sputnik) – More than 100 victims of the A321 passenger jet that crashed over Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula on October 31 have been identified, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Olga Golodets said Monday.
On Friday, the Russian Health Ministry said 58 of the 224 victims had been identified.
“Expertise is continuing and it’s moving along intensely. As far as I understand, more than 100 victims have already been identified,” Golodets told journalists.
On October 31, the Russian Kogalymavia airliner, carrying 224 people, crashed in the Sinai Peninsula en route from Sharm El-Sheikh to St. Petersburg. All people on board died in the largest air disaster in Russian civil aviation history.
On Friday, Russia suspended flights to Egypt until the cause of the Russian A321 plane crash in Sinai is determined.
