MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Head of the Chechen Republic Ramzan Kadyrov said Thursday that the persons who had planned an assassination attempt against him were currently in Syria.
"Those who ordered or organized this whole thing are today in Syria," Kadyrov told Russia's NTV channel.
Some 20 young people suspected of plotting the attack have been captured in Argun, a town located 10 kilometers (six miles) from the Chechen capital of Grozny.
Kadyrov has reportedly pardoned the arrested youth in a bid to give them a chance to redeem committed misdeeds.
Ramzan Kadyrov said that his representative was in talks with Syria's moderate opposition.
"My representative is currently in talks with all opposition forces, the moderate opposition," Kadyrov said.
