Russia Launches Int'l Climate Portal Prior to Paris Climate Conference

Moscow launches an international Climate Russia portal, aiming to share the latest environmental news, innovations and Russia’s steps to tackle the climate change.

The presentation of the portal will take place in the TASS information agency on October 30.

France Invites Putin for Climate Change Conference in November
The environmental support fund Russian Carbon, English-Dutch Unilever company and Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO) are among the partners of the portal.

The Paris United Nations Climate Change Conference to start on November 30 and to last up till December 11.

According to the organizing committee, the forum is aimed at achieving a legally binding comprehensive agreement to cope with climate change by replacing the 1997 Kyoto Protocol.

The international treaty failed to introduce stricter regulations for developing countries, and was never ratified by the United States, one of the world’s leading greenhouse gas emitters.
