Ukrainian Interior Ministry adviser and lawmaker Anton Herashchenko has called for the disclosure of any information about the Russian military involved in the air operation against the Islamic State (ISIL) militant group in Syria. This would make terrorist assaults on them easier, the Ukrainian official said.
"Our security services are bound to take note of this," the Russian president’s spokesman said. "Of course, it is an extremely hostile attitude to our country and our personnel, and there will be steps taken to guarantee the safety of our servicemen."
On September 30, Russia began pinpoint airstrikes against ISIL in Syria, following a request from Assad. The Russian Aerospace Forces have carried out over 450 strikes against terrorist positions over the past two weeks, reportedly killing some 300 militants and destroying command centers, training camps and ammunition dumps.
