MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Peskov referred journalists to Putin’s recent interview with national television channel Rossiya-1, where the president warned of the threat that international terrorism poses nowadays to every nation across the globe.
"Therefore all relevant agencies have been put on standby to tackle this threat. These are primarily the Federal Security Bureau (FSB), the National Anti-Terror Committee," Peskov said.
"These security services keep the president updated on all the operations they carry out."
The statement came a day after Russian security forces had seized a group of people on suspicion of plotting a bomb attack in Moscow.
A Russian newspaper, citing sources, has reported that there are three Syrians and 12 North Caucasians, including Chechens, among the detainees.
