An “out of control” passenger on board a Vladivostok-bound flight from Hong Kong had to be restrained and tied up with belts and duct tape, local media reported on Tuesday.

The apparently drunken man was overpowered by fellow passengers after he started a fight shouting and intimidating travelers before being restrained by belts, Vostok-Media news agency reported.

The man, whose name was not mentioned, was detained after the plane landed in Vladivostok.

In a similar incident on April 29, a male passenger on board a Kazan-Moscow flight locked himself up in a lavatory after flight attendants asked him to stop smoking and return to his seat.

The man then shattered the lavatory mirror and started a brawl. He was detained by police upon the plane’s arrival in Moscow.

In March, a Moscow-St. Petersburg flight was forced to turn back after a heavily intoxicated passenger from India tried to take over a fight in mid-air.

The troublemaker was placed under police custody after the plane landed at Moscow’s Sheremetyevo airport.
