Accusations of Russia's alleged sponsorship of cyberattacks on US state institutions are inappropriate and unfounded, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Wednesday.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — US Democratic presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton said on Tuesday that Russia, alongside China, Iran and North Korea, directly or indirectly sponsored cyberattacks on US government institutions.

"This is a completely inappropriate statement and a completely unfounded accusation. Hacking is an international issue and speaking of governmental sponsoring is, again, a completely unfounded accusation," Peskov told journalists..
