MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Russia's Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matvienko has been invited to attend the Fourth World Conference of Speakers of Parliament in New York, the head of Federation Council's press service said.
"Valentina Matvienko has received an invitation to attend this conference," Natalia Fomenko told RIA Novosti.
Fomenko added that Matvienko's visit to New York "is being considered."
The Fourth World Conference of Speakers of Parliament will be held at United Nations Headquarters in New York from August 31 to September 2, 2015.
