MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Russia is content with the outcome of Friday's election of FIFA head, Sports Minister Vitaly Mutko said Friday, stressing that the football authority needs deep reforms amid a corruption scandal.
"Of course, we are satisfied with the results in general, Russia supports Blatter. In addition, we, as a member of the European family, think that serious conclusions have to me made [after the corruption scandal] in order for a change to come [to FIFA]," he told R-sport news agency.
Meanwhile, FIFA is facing a multi-million dollar graft scandal, with several of its senior officials arrested under a US corruption warrant earlier in the week.
