Russian Emergencies Ministry increases the number of staff participating in rescue operation after the collision of two trains in Moscow Region, Deputy Head of the National Crisis Management Center of Russia’s EMERCOM Oleg Voronov said.

MOSCOW, May 20 (RIA Novosti) - Russian Emergencies Ministry increases the number of staff participating in rescue operation after the collision of two trains in Moscow Region, Deputy Head of the National Crisis Management Center of Russia’s EMERCOM Oleg Voronov said.

"Fire-fighting and rescue squads, central units of Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations, including highly skilled rescuers of the Tsentrospas and Lider squads are all working at the scene of the accident. We are ready to send a total of 300 people there," Voronov said.

Seven aircrafts are ready to join the rescue mission, one helicopter has already departed to the rescue scene. Some 30 ambulance cars have already been sent to help the EMERCOM mission in the Moscow Region.

Up to five people were reported dead and 45 injured in the collision of two passenger and freight trains in the Moscow Region near Narofominsk, spokesman for the operational team on-site said.
