MOSCOW, January 27 (RIA Novosti) – Twenty people have gone missing when a Russian fishing boat capsized in the Sea of Japan on Sunday, Russia’s Emergency Situations Ministry said.

The Chance-101 fishing boat had 30 crew members on board – 19 Russians and 11 Indonesians – when it sank in Japan’s waters 50 kilometers (31 miles) east of the Svetlaya village, in Russia's Primorye Territory, earlier on Sunday.

A life raft with 10 crew members – six Russians and four Indonesians – has been found by the Anatoly Torchinov vessel, the ministry said. Another 20 crew members are missing, a search for them is ongoing.

The search operation involves four ships and an An-24 aircraft. Russia’s Emergency Situations Ministry plans to send aircraft on Monday to assist the search and rescue effort.
