A suicide bomber in Russia's volatile southern republic of Dagestan detonated a bomb near a police station killing at least four law enforcers, a source in the republic's police forces said on Tuesday.
"According to preliminary information, a female suicide bomber blew herself up near a police station in the village of Karabudakhkent, killing four police," the police source said.
The republic's Interior Ministry said it has not yet determined if the suicide bomber was male or female. The ministry also confirmed two other individuals were injured in the blast and were taken to a hospital.
The suicide bomber walked up to a police post in the village where several police were on duty, including some sitting in a police vehicle nearby, and detonated an explosive device, the source said.
