In the Khabarovsk territory in Russia's far east police finished a preliminary investigation into the case of a 47-year old construction firm director, accused of sexually harassing four young girls and of violating public order, a press release on the website of the Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee of the Khabarovsk region reports.

The businessman dressed up in women’s clothes and, according to investigators; on the morning of 12th July 2011 he “sexually harassed two 14-year-old girls by showing them his genitals.”

Additionally, the defendant, described as a “drunken pervert” by Newsru.com, was confident in his innocence and committed the crime in the yard of multi-storey building in which he lived.

Afterwards, the accused went up to his apartment, and returned to the yard an hour later. He repeated his indecent assault on a 12-year-old girl who was walking past with her mother. “The frightened woman grabbed her daughter and ran away” the press-release stated. Under the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation article 135 this qualified as serial sexual abuse.

After the second assault, the perpetrator returned to his apartment, but after a while returned to the yard yet again and sexually harassed another 12-year-old girl.

"The furious parents whose children had become victims of sexual harassment reported the man to the police. Investigators and operatives quickly identified the offender”

As it turned out, the offender had caught the attention of the law before, when he committed an administrative offence. The press-release states that “residents of the neighborhood have reported the man to the police because he violated public order, harassing girls and walking around very drunk”.

The court has come to the decision to punish the defendant in the form of detention.
