Muscovites will be treated to free skiing and skating during the New Year's holidays, the capital's department of education's press service said on Saturday.
According to the press service, Moscow's education services have acquired 82,500 pairs of figure skating skates, more than 8,000 hockey skates, some 5,500 hockey sticks and pucks, as well as 9,000 sleds and 9,500 pairs of cross country skis.
"During the winter holidays at the stadiums of Moscow's schools, parks, and other sports areas additional sports facilities will be open to the public free of charge," the press service said.
Included in the program are 654 sports facilities, including 177 skating rinks, 181 cross-country trails, 91 sledding slopes and 205 stadiums.
