MOSCOW, December 18 (RIA Novosti) - Moscow police are investigating the murder of a woman who hired builders from Uzbekistan and was discovered buried in concrete in her bathroom, Russia's life.ru news website reported on Thursday.

The woman's boyfriend, Igor, told police that he had given Lyudmila an apartment shortly after she arrived in Moscow from her native Ukraine. She had hired a team of Uzbek builders to carry out renovation work on the apartment but after she went missing for three days he contacted the police.

Investigators said "We immediately suspected the workers of the crime, although we are looking at other versions. It will demand time but the migrants workers have been located and even the taxi driver who drove them to Domodedovo Airport."

Igor was surprised when he visited the apartment to see the renovation work had been carried out. When he entered the bathroom he said he saw Lyudmila's hand poking out of the concrete.

Investigators said that a criminal case on the murder has been opened and the workers are currently under arrest in their native Uzbekistan in connection with another crime.

The case file on the woman's murder has been sent to authorities in the Central Asian country.
