"Yesterday at half past four in the morning, a 42-year-old resident of the Oktyabrskoye district was woken by noise on the street, where young people were amusing themselves. The group did not react to his calls to be quiet, and continued to make noise. The man then rushed outside armed with an un-registered Saiga combat shotgun, and shot one of the culprits twice," police said in a statement.
The victim, a 22-year-old man, died on the spot. The suspect has been arrested, and an investigation is underway.
In late May, a 74 year-old resident of Novosibirsk's satellite town of Berdsk shot a 47 year-old bulldozer driver in the head with a double-barreled hunting rifle for making noise.
