BEIJING, June 26 (RIA Novosti) - The Russian Embassy in Beijing confirmed Tuesday that a Russian citizen was killed and another severely injured Saturday in a bar brawl near a night club in the center of the Chinese capital.

Chinese newspaper Xinjing Bao said Sunday that two Russians rushed out of the Banana Club following a heated argument with other patrons. The two were severely beaten up by four unidentified assailants at a nearby parking lot.

An embassy official said the man who died was an employee of a Russian company in China.

Chinese police have launched an investigation into the death, and said they had collected enough evidence to determine the identity of the assailants who fled the scene in a taxi cab.

It is the third murder of a Russian citizen in China this year.

A Russian tourist from Primoriye was found killed last week in a park in the Wudalianchi resort, in the Heilongjiang province in China's northeast.

In February a Russian woman was killed and another injured following a robbery in the city of Heihe, near the Russian border.
