MOSCOW, March 26 (RIA Novosti) - Moscow's arbitration court rejected an appeal from Russia's RosBusinessConsulting (RBC) and upheld a decision to fine the news agency $107,600 for violating copyright law against the Vedomosti daily.

The court decision follows a lower court's ruling in December to charge RBC the same sum in damages for illegally using more than 100 articles from the Vedomosti archives.

In October, the Arbitration Court of Moscow refused to grant a lawsuit from Business News Media, Vedomosti's publishing house, seeking $11 million worth of damages from RBC. The court said then articles that appeared in Vedomosti were not subject to copyright law.

RBC also filed an $11-million suit against Vedomosti, accusing the newspaper of illegally using its information on 130 occasions in 2002-2005 but the court rejected the suit in September.
