ST. PETERSBURG, March 1 (RIA Novosti) - Ford Motor Co. has finalized talks ending a labor dispute with union workers at its car assembly plant in the Leningrad Region in Russia's northwest, a company spokesperson said Thursday.

Workers at the Ford facility went on a one-day strike February 14 to demand that the company stop using temporary workers, recognize the hazardous conditions of work and guarantee jobs for workers injured at the plant.

Production at the plant resumed February 15, and negotiations between the administration and the labor union continued until a new labor deal was concluded.

"The sides signed a new collective agreement," Yekaterina Kulinenko said without revealing the details of the arrangement.

The Ford plant near Russia's second city produces about 75,000 cars a year, mainly the Focus model. The average monthly wage at the plant is 16,000-19,000 rubles (about $608-722).
