MOSCOW, March 24 (RIA Novosti) - Vladimir Putin said Friday that the Stabilization Fund should not be used to finance education.
He said 5 billion rubles (about $180 million) had been allocated on education in 2005 and 15 billion rubles ($540 million) next year.
"The government's Stabilization Fund should not be mentioned in vain, as these funds should be developed [at first]," Putin said.
He also said the government should support universities and institutes that could effectively use funds.
