ROSTOV-ON-DON, December 28 (RIA Novosti) - More than 700 wild birds have died of bird flu since mid-November, the Emergency Situations Ministry said Wednesday.
Most of the wildfowl affected by the pathogenic virus were found in Astrakhan and Kalmykia, ministry officials said.
The outbreak has now subsided, but could reemerge next year in Krasnodar and other regions of Russia's south, the officials said.
