    KazSat satellite launch postponed until 2006

    MOSCOW, December 21 (RIA Novosti) - The launch of a KazSat satellite has been postponed until the first half of 2006 due to technical problems, the Russian Space Agency said Wednesday.

    The launch from the Baikonur Space Center in Kazakhstan was originally scheduled for December this year.

    The first Kazakh KazSat geostationary satellite is equipped with 10-12 receiving and transmitting devices and is designed to provide TV broadcast and communications for Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan and part of Russia.
