MOSCOW, December 2 (RIA Novosti) - Japan may provide Russia with sorbents to prevent the Seas of Okhotsk and Japan from being polluted with benzene after a toxic spill in China on November 13, the Russian Natural Resources Ministry said Friday.
The ministry said in a statement that Oleg Mitvol, deputy head of the Federal Service for the Oversight of Natural Resources, had held a meeting with Japanese Embassy Secretary Yoshinori Takeda.
"The sides discussed the possible consequences of the pollution of the Amur River, as well as the seas of Okhotsk and Japan, with benzene compounds," the news release said.
