MURMANSK, October 23 (RIA Novosti) - Prosecutors investigating the incident with the Russian trawler Elektron in the Barents Sea will visit the vessel's captain Valery Yarantsev in hospital already today, a northern fisheries official said Sunday. According to the official, medics assess the captain's health condition as normal and stable, and his relatives and also prosecutors will be able to visit him today.
The Elektron trawler fishing off the Spitzbergen Archipelago refused Norway's orders on October 15 to go to port for alleged fisheries violations and fled into Russian territorial waters with two Norwegian inspectors on board. The inspectors were freed Thursday. After arriving in the port of Murmansk, the Elektron captain was hospitalised with a heart attack.
