MOSCOW, October 13 (RIA Novosti)-A total of 24 members of the Interior Ministry and 12 civilians were killed during the militant attack on the North Caucasus city of Nalchik, Russia's interior minister told Vladimir Putin Friday.
Rashid Nurgaliyev also said that 72 militants had been killed and 31 detained by 8 a.m. Moscow time (4 a.m. GMT).
Law enforcers said Thursday that about 100 gunmen had attacked Nalchik, the capital of the republic of Kabardino-Balkariya.
