MOSCOW, September 2 (RIA Novosti) - Russia and Canada do not have any problems in cooperation within the framework of the Open Skies Treaty, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Ivanov told a news conference Friday.
Canadian and Norwegian experts are conducting a monitoring flight over Russian territory that started on August 29 and will end September 3, the minister said after talks in Moscow with his Canadian counterpart Bill Graham.
The Open Skies Treaty was originally signed by 25 countries on March 24, 1992, in Helsinki, Finland. At present, 34 countries in Europe and North America have ratified the treaty.
