MOSCOW, July 11 (RIA Novosti) - Russia's Emergency Situations Ministry has reported that 17 people were killed and 17 hurt in the explosion in a shop, Passazh, in Ukhta (Russia's Komi Republic, Northern Urals).
Earlier, an official in the local police reported six fatalities.
"The victims sustained burns and wounds and were rushed to local hospital. Thirty people were evacuated from the building," said an official in the Emergency Situations Ministry.
According to the official, firefighters are still trying to put out the blaze.
