MOSCOW, July 8 (RIA Novosti) - "Playing games around the fight against terrorism is destructive," Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov told a Friday news conference.
"No one who supports terrorist attacks can be called a political leader, and no terrorists should be able to find shelter in any country," the minister said. He added that the international legal basis and instruments had been created for efforts to counteract terrorism, and now they had to be used effectively.
The minister said the UN Counter-Terrorism Committee coordinated work in this field, and all security services were working to counter terrorists' plans.
"[We] must be guided by single standards in the fight against terrorism," Lavrov said. "If we are guided by this approach, I am convinced that the fight against terrorism, including the prevention of terrorist attacks, will be more effective."
