DUSHANBE, June 28 (RIA Novosti, Valery Yarmolenko) - Russia is ready to send humanitarian aid to flood-stricken Tajikistan, the Emergencies Ministry said.

"Two Il-76 cargo aircraft from the Russian Emergencies Ministry will deliver tents, generators, medicines and food to Tajikistan," head of the ministry's International Department Yuri Brazhnikov said.

Emergencies Minister Sergei Shoigu and Tajik President Emomali Rakhmonov discussed this issue here Tuesday, Brazhnikov said.

"Russia will send the aid as soon as Tajikistan forwards a relevant official request," he said. "It will take the sides some days to determine the scale of the assistance required."
