Sputnik presents the candidates of the 2018 Russian Presidential Elections, their bios and positions on domestic and foreign policy. Meet Ksenia Sobchak, the only female candidate.

Biography: Throughout her active life as a socialite, Ksenia Sobchak has evolved from the hostess of entertainment TV shows to an icon of style and an opposition-minded journalist who decided to run for the presidency in 2018 as a candidate "against everyone."

Domestic program: Sobchak never tires of arguing that laws that prohibit or complicate citizens' display of political will and initiative should be reviewed. People should be free to express their political will and hold meetings with non-violent activities. All large state corporations should be privatized with antitrust restrictions introduced. In addition, the TV hostess advocates judicial reform, no state financing of religious institutions and freeing up the media.

Foreign policy: Russia is a European country, Ksenia Sobchak insists. "Democratic and prosperous European countries are our natural partners and allies. A strong, not weak, EU is in Russia's best interest. We need to make maximum effort to restore our partnership relations with Europe with an association agreement as a long-term goal," Sobchak argues.
