Political outsider Donald Trump and his movement triumphed against the establishment and disproved all the naysayers who predicted that he’d suffer a humiliating defeat at the hands of Hillary Clinton. Going into Election Day, a casual observer would have been forgiven for thinking that the Democrats had it in the bag and that there was no way that Trump would triumph, but the American People surprised the rest of the world by showing everybody just how strongly they reject the existing order of things and are anxious to shake up it all up.
Now that the dust is finally settling, many people are struggling to understand just how so many supposedly reputable media outlets, pundits, and polls could have been so astoundingly far off the mark in wrongly predicting the course of this election, giving way to suggestions that either they failed to recognize and capture the paradigm shift underway or had a stake in deliberately misleading the public.
