On today's episode of Loud & Clear, host Brian Becker looks at the laws that are being challenged before the Supreme Court that could roll back abortion rights. On the 43rd anniversary of the landmark Roe vs. Wade decision that legalized abortion across the United States, Ana Rodriguez DeFrates, the State Policy and Advocacy Director at the National Latina Institute for Reproductive Health, looks at the possibility that nine out of ten abortion clinics could soon be closed in Texas.
On the second segment, Becker is joined by Adem Uzun, an executive committee member of the Kurdistan National Congress (KNK), to analyze why the Kurdish issue is the major barrier to the Syrian peace talks starting next week in Geneva, as well as why Turkey is so motivated to crush the Kurdish forces in both Turkey and Syria.
Finally, Becker is joined by Mahmud Ahmad, a Palestinian activist, to discuss the latest land grabs in the West Bank announced this week by the Israeli Army. The two talk about why despite widespread international condemnation, the growth of Israel settlements in the Palestinian territories continue.
