An increasing number of Americans are renouncing their citizenship and giving up their passports, with 2015 already setting a new record.

A UK-based money transfer service, TransferWise, surveyed 2,090 American adults, with respondents asked about their long-term residency plans. More than a third said they would consider leaving the US and live in a foreign country.

An increasing number of Americans are prepared to go even further – and renounce their citizenship altogether. On this edition of Looking Forward, co-hosts Svetlana Ekimenko and Victor Erofeyev are joined by American tax lawyer Robert Wood, to look at the reasons for a substantial increase of American expatriates in recent years.
