Radio Sputnik is looking into this week`s major economic events together with Radio Sputnik`s analyst Dmitry Babich and Ms Gauri Khandekar, a researcher and Head of FRIDE (Foundation for International Relations and Foreign Dialogue) Agora Asia-Europe Program.

The situation hasn't changed for the Russian currency much, as the rouble continues to dive. The currency has lost more than 40 percent this year, and annual inflation is predicted to reach 10 percent as early as by the end of 2014. We take a look at the latest steps made by the Central Bank to tackle this trend.

Another topic — the cancellation of the South Stream gas pipeline. Bulgaria tries to compensate the loss of the project by offering to construct a gas hub. We take a look at what that might mean.

And finally Russia and India have decided to build 12 nuclear reactors in the next two decades. We discuss how this recent agreement improves trade relations between the two.
