MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The lawyer added that the team of William Browder, UK businessman and CEO of investment fund Hermitage Capital Management, who "orchestrated" the scandal following defeat in a US court in 2013 in the Prevezon Holdings company case, in which Veselnitskaya was one of the lawyers, collected her personal information and submitted to a US congressman and representatives of the US State Department.
"I am ready to clarify the situation behind this mass hysteria, but only through lawyers or testifying in the Senate. I am ready [to go to the Senate], if I am guaranteed safety, because today I have to think about my safety first… about the safety of my family," Veselnitskaya told the broadcaster.
"It’s been revealed that Mr. Browder and his team have been gathering information about my family, they tried to find out whether I am married or not, whether I have children or not, they found photos of my house and sent them to Kyle Parker, he is a famous man in the House of Representatives, who worked for Mr Browder for many years, and not for any congressmen or congress as a whole," Veselnitskaya told the broadcaster.
Veselnitskaya insisted that she never had sensitive information about Clinton, nor any intentions of damaging the former presidential candidate's reputation and denied any links with the Kremlin. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Veselnitskaya did not represent the Russian government, while US coverage of the Veselnitskaya-Trump Jr. scandal was meant to overshadow Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin’s first bilateral meeting.
