Timing of Trump's Visit to UK Being Worked Out - White House
The White House is currently working on scheduling US President Donald Trump's official visit to the United Kingdom, a senior administration's official told reporters on Tuesday.
WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — Earlier in the day, the Sky news broadcaster reported Trump would postpone his planned visit to London until 2018.
"The United Kingdom has extended invitation for state visit. The president has accepted and he is being working toward this way," the official told reporters.
UK Prime Minister Theresa May in January invited Trump on behalf of Her Majesty the Queen to visit the country.
According to the media, the official trip has been pushed back because UK activists promised large-scale demonstrations across the county. The opposition built up in response to Trump's immigration policies and his executive order blocking travelers from six Muslim-majority countries from entering the United States.
