BRUSSELS (Sputnik) — The EU foreign policy chief stressed that the two sides also agreed to "increase the level of exchanges… on the main foreign policy issues we discussed today."
"We agreed to increase the level of contacts between our people, the European Union is ready to build bridges when it comes to links between our societies," Mogherini said.
Mogherini noted that, among other issues, the parties discussed the Syrian ceasefire agreement, possible areas of cooperation in Libya and work done by the two sides on the implementation of the Iranian nuclear deal.
During the previous meeting between Lavrov and Mogherini, held in April, the two sides said they were determined to increase the level of coordination and find a common ground on key international issues despite the existing disagreements between Moscow and Brussels.
