Intra-Syria Talks Delegation Receives Naumkin Paper on Settlement Principles

One of the delegations at the ongoing intra-Syrian talks in Geneva has received a so-called "Naumkin's paper" describing political principles of the Syrian settlement, and has already replied to this paper, a source told Sputnik.

GENEV (Sputnik) — Vitaly Naumkin is a Russian adviser to UN Special Envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura.

After Sputnik learned about the existence of such paper, a source in one of the delegations confirmed having received it and having provided commentaries on it.

"All the points in Naumkin's paper are important. We introduced some amendments to it and asked the special envoy to discuss it with the other platforms and then to get back to us. Improvement and strengthening of some points already in the paper in such a way that could build a patriotic common ground between the Syrians," the source said.

Another source at the talks told Sputnik the document is more political than technical in its essence.
