European Union member states will not discuss the situation surrounding anti-Russia sanctions during an informal summit in Malta on Friday, an EU official said.

BRUSSELS (Sputnik) — Valletta is scheduled to host the informal meeting among EU heads of state and government on February 3. The meeting's published agenda is expected to address migration and the future of the bloc post-Brexit, including threats the 27 EU member states face.

The EU official, who spoke with reporters in Brussels on Thursday but wishing to remain anonymous, said there were no plans to discuss anti-Russia sanctions at the informal meeting.
