Russia will not leave without a response the decision of Lithuanian authorities to impose an entry ban on representatives of Russian non-government organizations, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on Friday.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) – She also confirmed that on December 15 the Lithuanian border guard banned members of the Russia's Foundation for Supporting and Protecting Rights of Compatriots from entering Lithuania. The decision was explained by alleged threat to the Lithuanian national security posed by them.

"It is deeply regrettable that the Lithuanian authorities obsessed with Rusophobia are extremely sensitive to the contacts of representatives of Russian NGOs with compatriots and are ready to resort to all kinds of provocations for disrupting their activities. A new anti-Russia act of Vilnius will undoubtedly have an impact on the Russian-Lithuanian relations, which have already been uneasy, and will not remain without response," Zakharova said in a statement issued by the Russian Foreign Ministry’s website.
