Assassination of Russian Ambassador in Turkey (121)

US Secretary of State John Kerry offered Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu assistance in the investigation of the assassination of Russian Ambassador to Turkey Andrei Karlov, US Department of State spokesperson John Kirby said in a release.

WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — On Monday, Karlov was killed by a gunman during a photo exhibition opening in Ankara. Three other people were also injured in the attack. The Russian Foreign Ministry called the incident an act of terrorism.

"The Secretary also offered US assistance to the investigation into the horrific murder of Russian Ambassador to Turkey Andrey Karlov," Kirby stated on Tuesday.

Earlier it was reported that Kerry raised concerns with Cavusoglu over the allegation that Washington was involved in the assassination of the Russian Ambassador.
