Turkish Embassy in Russia said that Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu will arrive in Moscow on Tuesday and will meet with his counterparts from Russia and Iran, Sergey Lavrov and Mohammad Javad Zarif.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu will arrive in Moscow on Tuesday and will meet with his counterparts from Russia and Iran, Sergey Lavrov and Mohammad Javad Zarif, to discuss Syria, the Turkish Embassy in Russia said Monday.

"Yes, the minister will come to Moscow for the trilateral meeting on Syria," a spokesman for the embassy told RIA Novosti.

On Sunday, the Iranian Foreign Ministry issued a statement about the upcoming meeting of the three foreign ministers, indicating that the talks had been originally scheduled for December 27, but had to be moved up due to the new developments in Syria.

On December 16, the Russian Defense Ministry's center for Syrian reconciliation said that the Syrian army operation to liberate the eastern neighborhoods of the major city of Aleppo was over, and that the Syrian government troops were eliminating separate hotbeds of militant resistance.

On Sunday, the situation in Aleppo and the ongoing evacuation of civilians and militants who are ready to lay down arms, was discussed by Russian President Vladimir Putin and Turkish leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
