Bilateral relations between Moscow and Pyongyang have long history and keep developing despite difficult international state of affairs, North Korean Ambassador to Russia Kim Hyun Joong said Friday.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — He stressed that the bilateral ties kept developing "due to the attention that [Russian] President Vladimir Putin and Kim Jong-il paid to them."

"Despite the difficult international environment, friendly relations between Russia and North Korea are developing successfully," Kim said at the Kim Jong-il remembrance day in North Korean embassy.

On Saturday, the embassy will be opened for everyone willing to pay respect to the Russia-born deceased Former Supreme Leader of North Korea.
