"As far as I know, [Foreign Minister Frank-Walter] Steinmeier is not personally acquainted with Tillerson, I do not know if they have met. But we will be glad to cooperate with new US Secretary of State, successor to John Kerry, cooperation with whom was brilliant both in professional, political and personal fields. We strongly hope that we will be able to reach similar cooperation with his successor, possibly Tillerson," Schaefer said.
When commenting on Tillerson's nomination, Trump said that he was chosen to "reverse years of foreign policy blunders and disasters."
Tillerson joined Exxon in 1975 as a production engineer and served as the company’s senior vice president and president before being elected chairman and chief executive in 2006.
