MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Being friends with someone against the third party is hardly the approach Moscow shares, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Thursday, adding that Russia would not be friends with the European Union against the United States under the leadership of Donald Trump.
"Obviously, one can hardly agree with the idea that you can be friends against someone else… This is probably not the approach that would meet our interests," Peskov told reporters commenting on EU foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini's remarks on possible EU-Russia collective stand to oppose the US policy to be implemented by Trump.
He added that Russia sought good relations with the European Union and it was necessary to begin dialogue on all issues, including security, as soon as possible.
