Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has shared his view on US President-elect Donald Trump in an interview with the CBS News, saying the new American leader feels "very warmly about the Jewish state."

WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — Donald Trump’s support to Israel and its people is unquestionable, Netanyahu said.

“I know Donald Trump.  I know him very well.  And I think his attitude, his support for Israel is clear.  He feels very warmly about the Jewish state … and about Jewish people. There’s no question about that,” he said to the CBS News on Sunday.

He stressed that he would continue to oppose a nuclear agreement with Iran under Trump’s presidency, adding that despite the deal, Tehran had not abandoned its aim to obtain nuclear weapons.

During the 2016 presidential election, Trump was very critical of the Iran nuclear agreement, characterizing it as one of the worst in history.
