ANKARA (Sputnik) — Yildirim's visit, made at Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev's invitation, is set to last through Wednesday.

"We have a long-standing issue with Russia regarding the gas price. This topic will be discussed by the representatives of the two energy ministries," Yildirim told reporters in Ankara.

At the end of 2015, Russian gas accounted for about 50 percent of Turkey's total gas imports. In March, Turkish gas importer Enerco Enerji said that Russia’s energy giant Gazprom had canceled its 10.25-percent price discount. Gazprom said the dispute was settled in April.
