Iranian Foreign Minister to Visit China December 5-6 - Beijing

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif will pay an official visit to China on December 5-6, a spokesman for the Chinese Foreign Ministry said Sunday.

BEIJING (Sputnik) – According to Geng Shuang, cited by the Xinhua news agency, Zarif and his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi will hold the first annual meeting of foreign ministers, the format agreed earlier this year.

The decision to establish the mechanism of annual Iran-China meetings, aimed at strengthening strategic mutual trust between the two countries, was made in late January during the visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping to Iran.

During the visit, the sides announced the establishment of comprehensive strategic partnership, and set a goal to increase the bilateral trade volume to $600 billion in the next ten years.
