Ukraine will continue with its plans to carry out military exercises involving missile launches near Crimea, despite possible threats, Ukraine Defense Ministry spokesman Andriy Lysenko said Wednesday.

KIEV (Sputnik) – The Russian air transport agency Rosaviatsia said last week that Ukraine unilaterally decided to hold missile firing exercises near Simferopol in violation of international agreements.

The missile drills are expected to take place on December 1-2 between 05:00 GMT and 17:00 GMT, Rosaviatsia said, adding that the launches will extend into Russia’s civil airspace and present a threat to flight safety.

"Everything that has been planned will be carried out. As far as threats are concerned, this cannot damage the plans which the soldiers will carry out," Lysenko told a briefing.

On Wednesday, the Russian Transport Ministry said that Russian aviation authorities have informed the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) of Ukraine's warning on introducing new restrictions for flights over the Black Sea near Crimea.
