Trump 'Furious' After Top Adviser Slams Romney as Potential State Secretary Pick
MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Romney added that Trump's vision was "something which obviously connected with the American people in a very powerful way".

"What I've seen through these discussions I've had with President-elect Trump, as well as what we've seen in his speech on the night of his victory, as well as the people he's selected as part of his transition, all of these things combined give me increasing hope that President-elect Trump is the man who can lead us to the better future," Romney told reporters after a dinner with Trump.

Meanwhile, during Trump’s election campaign, Romney referred to him as "a phony, a fraud."

Romney participated in the US presidential election in 2012 as candidate from the Republican Party, but lost to incumbent President Barack Obama. The former governor of Massachusetts is reportedly one of the two candidates Trump is considering for the top diplomat role. The other candidate is Rudy Giuliani, the former New York mayor.

On November 8, Trump won the US presidential election by gaining a major electoral lead over Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton. The inauguration of the US president-elect will take place on January 20.
